“THANK YOU sincerely for your attendance at my place recently and showing 4 of us the preliminary foundations of Connected Riding.  We all thoroughly enjoyed it.  Learning new skills for the enrichment of your horse and oneself are always rewarding and encouraging; it was an awesome day.”  Katie, Nov 07

“I was looking for some help with my mare, I had tried a few things but they didn’t sit with me. I was then recommended Trisha. I have been
going once a month to the intensive day at Trisha’s for the last four months and what I have learned in that time is priceless.
I liken it to getting “the keys” that open the door of communication. Basically through ground work and rider position I have learned to
clearly communicate to Shady my horse, what I require from her. Shady has become a willing participant and a lot more relaxed. I can dampen
down any silly behavior before it escalates from the ground or in the saddle. The best thing is she now self loads into the float, before she
would rear up and it would take a number of us some time to get her in. I love the independence that gives me! I know this is only the beginning
and I have so much more to learn and with Trisha’s help I am sure I will reach the full potential of my horse and myself. Trisha is like the
“super nanny” of the horse world!”

“I just wanted to say thank you for writing the article on catching horses that was published on the LifeStyleBlock.co.nz web site. I had been having problems in catching one of my small ponies and after reading your article and trying what was suggested, I finally think I will be able to make some progress with him. He is one of the most frustrating ponies I've ever come across and I used to think I had some skill in teaching ponies to be caught but Blizzard has taught me otherwise. So thanks again and I look forward to reading more of your work.”  Tasha, Aug 07

“I contacted Trisha regarding some issues I was having with my TB mare.  My mare was fine at home but became spooky as soon as we left our driveway and was difficult to catch.  I had a private lesson at home and after discussion on our issues and background we started with some ground exercises.  The exercises Trisha taught me have been invaluable – I now know some basic methods to calm my worried horse and she loves them, she relaxes instantly.

Next we changed my position in the saddle.  I have had many nasty falls over the years so I am not overly confident in the saddle anymore and with a horse that tends to go up when scared I had little trust.  However in this new position I feel safe and secure.  I can maintain the position at trot and canter and will even think about jumping again sometime soon.

I now have a happy mare again who is pleased to see me in the paddock.  I’ve spent a bit of time just hanging out with her and doing the exercises.  She is now happy for me to catch her again – as long as I have a carrot with me!  After doing the ground exercises I even managed to load my mare into to our new float without any sign of nervousness and no cleaning out the float either – she was calm, relaxed and happy to do what I asked of her.

We still have a fair way to go with earning each others trust again, but I feel we are both heading in the same direction again.  My next goal is to go to Trisha’s farm for a ride – after some more practice at home!

I can thoroughly recommend Trisha to anyone that wants to improve their connection with their horse – no matter what discipline you follow.   The ground exercises are easy to learn and they really do work wonders.

Thank you again Trisha, I’ll be back to learn more.”  Melanie Tonkin, May 07

"I enjoyed the lesson and think I got a lot out of it in spite of the weather, it's hard to believe that with a little bit of tweaking to the way I sit I can feel so much more stable and secure." Shelley Cooper, Apr 07

"I wanted to say thank you again for another great lesson - I always feel so inspired after my lessons with you. It is so awesome to feel excited about working with Precious again, you are really special!!" Beth Godwin, Feb 07

"You have worked miracles on the boys - we took them over the farm - we got to a wide grass track up to the haybarn and neither horse got uppity or silly - a real change in attitude believe me - we set off and they were like two proper under control quite happy boys - fantastic fun to canter & and so safe because they were totally under control - so from both of us, and definitely Jock and Robbie - THANKS :-)" Geoff Copstick

"Just a quick note to let you know how pleased I am with the work you did with Cloudy. He's very soft, friendly and responsive to handle at present. Have put canvas nose guard on over last 2 days and taking off again at night. In all the time I've had him (6yrs) he's never let me really touch the lower part of his face, and he's letting me rub him all over, and apart from upper lip which he tolerates, the rest he appears to enjoy!!! I feel much more confident and really looking forward to the two days next week. I'm absolutely delighted with his progress!" Denny Welsford, Mar 06

UK Feedback (to Sept 2005)

"Thank you so much for the clinic last week. It boosted my confidence and Bella is enjoying the slower and probably clearer way of working. She is responding well and not getting into a panic but standing and thinking. She has been panic first and think after for all the time I've had her." Ann Dickman

"I wanted to say thank you for your hard work here in Yorkshire. Everyone was so pleased with what they learnt. Jenny did a dressage test on Sunday trying to work with the position you went through and she got her best score yet." Tricia Cable

"I just wanted to email to say thank you for the lessons you gave over here in Australia- Mickey & I got a lot out of them. Anyway thanks again - and come back real soon PLEASE!" Emma Keightley

"Thanks for last night. I am amazed you got Svadi and Skorungur in the trailer so quickly. Believe me! - those two have been a problem!" Doris Russell

"Last year it was suggested to me that I should put my horse into a sanctuary as she was behaving so dangerously. Fortunately Trisha Wren was found. This was my last resort. In a few months Trisha transformed Flicka with her natural horsemanship training. I've still got my lovely horse and a lot more understanding of horses thanks to Trisha." Julia Pyper

"Your manner with horses is fantastic and your ability to tune in with their communication signals is admirable and something that every horse rider or owner should take the time to learn." Moira Clayton

“Thank you for the 2 sessions at the clinic; you were by far the nicest and best teacher I have ever had, so quiet and patient.  I gained so much confidence and my hip that I had so much trouble with is now pain free thanks to the adjustments you made to my riding position.  It’s unbelievable!”  Pat Bentley

“Thank you so much – I feel so confident now with my horses and I will now be able to move forward.” Pam

"When I first became aware of Trisha Wren, on occasion finding myself judging local Western Riding classes she had entered, I was immensely struck and impressed by her calm and precise dedication to detail, re-all things competitive but, very noticeably her compassion for her horses and her definitive acceptance of whatever the result turned out to be. Trisha's natural ability and desire to appreciate and understand the individual needs - 'give and take' - aspects of the horse way beyond the generally 'used too' and accepted realms of horsemanship, along with the varying needs and experiences of the horse-person, has both escalated and evolved to the point that overall balance, comfort, compassion and education of horse and rider is a true onemanship consideration and application on offer to all that request it. In my view this is indeed a blessing!" Sally Spencer

"I was introduced to Trisha through a fellow Icelandic owner who had serious loading problems with one of her horses. I had a similar problem; it could take anything from ten minutes to a couple of hours to entice my Icelandic in to a trailer using enough tempting treats to keep a small horse over the winter! Trisha was amazing, her manner was fantastic as I watched Hjalti change from a tense and unsure horse in to a completely confident and relaxed horse ready to travel anywhere. Trisha's ability to tune in to the horses communication signals is admirable and something every horse rider and owner should take the time to learn." Moira Clayton & Hjalti

"Trisha has a wonderfully effective way of approaching horses. She offers gentleness and consistency. She is clear about what she's asking, and the horse responds. She is equally effective in communicating with people. Rather than say that a rider is doing things wrong, she is inclined comment on what is right, and suggest ways to build on that." Caroline Collins

GOODBYE TO AN OLD FRIEND... In November (2002), and after nearly two years of great help, we sadly had to say "good-bye" to Mark's assistant, Trisha Wren. For those of you who have attended any of Mark's clinics over the past two years, you will be familiar with Trisha. She was the great lady from Scotland who was Mark's "right hand" at his clinics and who also helped riders at the clinics to develop a balanced seat in the saddle. As always, it seems all good things must come to an end and unfortunately for us, it was time for Trisha to head back to Scotland to begin a training business of her own in the UK. We offer Trisha our heartfelt thanks for her unending service over the past two years and wish her the very best in her new venture back home. We're sure she'll do great! www.MarkRashid.com
